Openwave Appoints Eileen Nelson As Senior Vice President Of Human Resources

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. - April 5, 2010 - Openwave Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: OPWV), a global software innovator delivering context-aware mediation and messaging solutions, today announced the appointment of Eileen Nelson as senior vice president, human resources, effective April 1. She brings more than 28 years of experience in all aspects of HR including staffing, training, global cultural development, and leadership best-practices. Nelson will report directly to Openwave's CEO, Ken Denman.

Most recently Nelson was senior vice president of human resources for 3Com where she led a global HR team. Prior to 3Com, Nelson was vice president of human resources for Tropos Networks, a market leader in intelligent IP broadband mesh networks. Previously, she was senior vice president of HR for eBay, and before that spent 13 years at 3Com as senior vice president of corporate services, leading a team of over 200 professionals worldwide. Earlier in her career, she held increasingly senior HR positions for several leading technology companies including Tandon/Western Digital Corporation and Davong Systems.
